The Poway Chapter of NCL, Inc. awards financial assistance of up to $6,000 to graduating senior girls, who have a genuine desire to pursue a degree in education, have demonstrated financial need, and have shown a commitment to volunteering in the community.  This scholarship opportunity, being one of our many philanthropic efforts, is open to seniors attending one of the six Poway Unified School District high schools. 

 

This scholarship is awarded each year in memory of Gayle Kennedy, a loving wife and mother of four, who was one of the founding members of the Poway Chapter of NCL.  She devoted her life to her career in education as well as her community.  She graduated from SDSU, taught for over 12 years in PUSD and then volunteered her time at Painted Rock and Twin Peaks.  Gayle's life was prematurely taken following a battle with ovarian cancer.
